ABOUT ABOUT

Daily 5

Allison Behne presents the foundational elements along with the brain and learning research underlying The Daily 5 framework for teaching literacy. Participants learn about the five core literacy components that, when practiced every day, create independent readers and writers: Read to Self, Work on Writing, Read to Someone, Listen to Reading, and Word Work. Daily 5 techniques are covered, providing the information necessary for structuring classroom literacy time so students can work independently and productively while you deliver instruction in small groups and one-on-one.

All sessions are prerecorded and available for playback at your convenience.

Participants learn how to

  • apply the Daily 5 structure for their classroom’s grade level (K–12),
  • launch each Daily 5 task, and
  • support students who have a difficult time building independence and stamina.
